About

Matthew is a highly experienced consultant specialising in cultural research, the facilitation of senior leadership and team development workshops, cultural development programs, strategy workshops and behavioural change initiatives. Matthew has over 21 years of experience working in the area of personal change and team development, and the design and facilitation of experiential based training programs. 

Central to Matt’s approach is the notion of purpose, and the alignment of purpose at the individual, collective and organisational (or systemic) level. Matthew works skilfully at these three levels helping clients first understand their environment then supporting leadership teams and individuals to understand how they shape the environment to achieve success.

He has recently returned from an 18 month world-crossing odyssey – travelling overland from Melbourne to England with his wife and three young daughters. After crossing the world and then driving around Europe and Morocco, he returned home to resume his consulting career – having learnt more about personal growth and development in 18 months than he previously thought possible.

Matthew has a Honours Degree in Psychology from The University of New South Wales and holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training as well as Outdoor Recreation.

Experience

Beyond his work in more traditional corporate sector program facilitation, Matthew also brings with him over 8 years of experience in leading wilderness-based experiential learning and personal development programs. It is through the demanding medium of wilderness learning that Matthew has developed exceptional skills in leadership, coaching and mentoring individuals through processes of often intense challenge and personal change. He has lead groups through some of Australia’s most remote and demanding wilderness areas. He brings to his programs a wealth of experience in practical and successful leadership practices.

He has designed and facilitated organisational wide leadership programs for companies in Australia (Telstra, Aurora Energy and Ernst & Young) and also global companies (ALS Global). He has been invited to run leadership workshops in the USA, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Africa, Canada and Europe.
