  • Background

Hector was formerly Regional Training & Development Manager, for the Latin American & Caribbean Division of Xerox Corporation, working and living in Brazil, México & Argentina Hector’s mission, at Xerox, was to design and deliver training & development services for subsidiaries in 15 different countries in three languages.

Delivering Training & Development for “unlike minded people”, made him aware of the fact that technical qualifications and IQ were not enough to overcome the specific cultural issues that affected negatively motivation and performance quality in each country.

In order to cope with these cultural issues, Hector called some of the most prestigious experts in Human & Organizational behaviour.

As a result of his conversations with the experts, Hector discovered a deeper call: awakening and empowering leaders to transform themselves, their teams and organisations.

To accomplish this, his new vision, Héctor started learning related cutting edge subjects: Change Management, Management of organizational behaviour, Human Performance Engineering, Strategic Business Modelling, Action Learning, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, NLP and Counselling.

Acting as Executive Development Manager at BAT Industries, he had the opportunity to apply extensively his new skills, coaching the company Top Team during a merger and acquisition, and facilitating “Action Learning” workshops for Area Managers and High Potential Officers.

Later on, as Corporate Development Manager, at BankAmerica Corporation, he played a key role in designing and leading a Cultural Change program for the Latin American Division.

Since 1986, as independent consultant, Héctor has developed some Cultural Change & Performance Improvement projects for corporations in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

In 1990, he founded his own consultancy company: Service Management Systems, in Madrid Spain (SMS Consultants Net), developing projects for Bank of Boston, Lloyds Bank, Televes, Credit Lyonnais, Petrobras, BAT Industries, Chase Manhattan Bank, HUF Iberia, Schering Plough, Caja Vital Kutxa, Banco Industrial de Guipuzcoa, Compagnie des Wagons-Lits, Vodafone, BAT Spain and Lease Plan.

In 1999, he met Richard Barrett in a Business & Consciousness Conference in Mexico. The same year he attends the CTT Consultant’s training (Part 1 & 2) with Richard and Joan Shafer.

In the year 2000, Hector published the Spanish edition of Richard Barrett’s book “Liberating the Corporate Soul”. Since 2002, Héctor is CTT Consultant’s Trainer.

In 2001, Hector became Managing Partner of Grupo Actitudine, a merger between Actitudine Consultores Associates y SMS Consultants Net.

  • What We Care About

The issues we face today in organisations and globally will require unprecedented leadership and unprecedented levels of co-operation concurrently, to mobilise communities and organisations.

A New Paradigm for the Future

To make progress on our most significant issues, we need a new paradigm—one that inspires us to:

  • Act constructively in a values-driven way
  • Empower each other to take responsibility and accountability at all levels of the organisation
  • Shift our focus from problem-centric to solution-centric (positive change)
  • Make progress on the toughest issues and challenges
  • Create an environment of breakthrough performance, and high levels of commitment and learning
  • Liberate ourselves from old ways of thinking about how to manage and lead people
  • Develop systems intelligence.
  • As the industrial age wanes, new possibilities emerge to create a different paradigm of leadership. I propose a new paradigm that draws from many sources and builds on them in an integrative way.

The mechanistic, industrial paradigm has been in existence since the latter part of the 18th century and continues to shape society and modern organisations. It is a long, slow journey, yet incredibly worthwhile.
