  • Over 25 years of experience working in the health industry as a mental health professional in clinical, operational, health reform projects (statewide and federal) and health service management roles.
  • Consulting experience including Big 4 (KPMG) before founding own consultancy specialising in leadership development, strategic planning and culture change.
  • 7 years experience teaching evidence-based and experiential leadership units at UWA (teach three different leadership units), nominated for Teaching Excellence award for UWA, 2020.
  • Professionally accredited coach with International Coaching Federation - executive coaching, leadership coaching and career transition.
  • Background

    As the Founder and Director of BlueHelix Consulting Pty Ltd, Jenny provides leadership development, strategic planning, and cultural transformation services to a variety of public sector, private and not for profit clients, believing that every human being has the leadership to offer, somewhere in our lives and using our unique strengths.

    Jenny’s professional coaching and facilitation services bring a wide range of approaches to deepen dialogue within groups and organisations. Jenny draws upon Group Dialogue approaches (using World Cafe; Open Space Technology; and Appreciative Inquiry) and has the ability to create safe environments in which to explore divergent views and to gain clarity and understanding when different views seem challenging.

    Jenny is an experienced management consultant with previous experience working with KPMG as part of the Health and Human Services and with the People and Change teams and with Du Pont Sustainable Solutions where she was responsible for the development of their Health portfolio. As the Director of Donald Cant Watts Corke (Strategic Health Planning) for WA, Jenny had a focus on strategic health projects including service development and redesign.

    Jenny is passionate about her academic role in teaching leadership excellence to MBA candidates at the UWA Business School. Individuals are encouraged to explore mindful leadership as a way to strengthen and cultivate the four hallmarks of leadership excellence - focus, clarity, creativity and compassion and in the service of others.

    The issues we face today in organisations and globally will require unprecedented leadership and unprecedented levels of co-operation concurrently, to mobilise communities and organisations.

    A New Paradigm for the Future

    To make progress on our most significant issues, we need a new paradigm—one that inspires us to:

  • Act constructively in a values-driven way
  • Empower each other to take responsibility and accountability at all levels of the organisation
  • Shift our focus from problem-centric to solution-centric (positive change)
  • Make progress on the toughest issues and challenges
  • Create an environment of breakthrough performance, and high levels of commitment and learning
  • Liberate ourselves from old ways of thinking about how to manage and lead people
  • Develop systems intelligence.
  • As the industrial age wanes, new possibilities emerge to create a different paradigm of leadership. I propose a new paradigm that draws from many sources and builds on them in an integrative way.

    The mechanistic, industrial paradigm has been in existence since the latter part of the 18th century and continues to shape society and modern organisations. It is a long, slow journey, yet incredibly worthwhile.
