  • Background

Bernard is passionate about developing leadership and facilitating culture change, supporting individuals and organisations to thrive. He is a thought leader and change advocate for regenerating our environmental, health and economic global systems.

Prior to becoming a leadership development consultant and coach, Bernard was an award-winning, Harvard University-trained scientist. After 25 years, Bernard left academia to specialise in developing the leadership capability of astute people motivated to regenerate our planet. He supports leaders and aspiring leaders to develop their personal mastery to lead high-performance teams and fulfil their personal and organisational goals.

Consistent with his passion for transformational change, in 2017 Bernard coached a social entrepreneurial program Team Leader from NZ. From this conversation, the campaign “BAN THE BAG” was implemented, and in July 2019 single-use plastic bags were eliminated in NZ. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern regards this as one of her greatest accomplishments. Many other global leaders are following her leadership demonstrating the power of one critical coaching conversation causing exceptional outcomes.

Bernard’s coaching philosophy is bespoke. He employs a range of tools to guide development including the Being Profile, Strengths, Emotional intelligence and Positive Psychology interventions. His approach supports people to increase their awareness, confidence and ability to influence and lead. He has worked with STEMM professionals, academics, CFOs, architects, police, entrepreneurs, farmers and other business leaders.

Bernard is an associate of Engenesis and part of the first worldwide cohort to be trained and accredited to use the Being Profile Ontological Assessment and Coaching tool. Currently, he and his business partner are the only two people in WA accredited to debrief and coach using the Being Profile, which assesses 31 ways of being essential to leadership.

Keynote speaking topics include: (1) Teams and Tribal Leadership; (2) Lead Yourself First and (3) It’s All About The Impact.

  • What We Care About

The issues we face today in organisations and globally will require unprecedented leadership and unprecedented levels of co-operation concurrently, to mobilise communities and organisations.

A New Paradigm for the Future

To make progress on our most significant issues, we need a new paradigm—one that inspires us to:

  • Act constructively in a values-driven way
  • Empower each other to take responsibility and accountability at all levels of the organisation
  • Shift our focus from problem-centric to solution-centric (positive change)
  • Make progress on the toughest issues and challenges
  • Create an environment of breakthrough performance, and high levels of commitment and learning
  • Liberate ourselves from old ways of thinking about how to manage and lead people
  • Develop systems intelligence.
  • As the industrial age wanes, new possibilities emerge to create a different paradigm of leadership. I propose a new paradigm that draws from many sources and builds on them in an integrative way.

The mechanistic, industrial paradigm has been in existence since the latter part of the 18th century and continues to shape society and modern organisations. It is a long, slow journey, yet incredibly worthwhile.
