Career History
Background
Andrew’s focus is on improving business outcomes for clients. A scientist by training, he worked in the university/CSIRO sector for 15 years before moving into consulting, facilitating and coaching from 2005. Applying his experience in the negotiation, leadership and strategy space over a wide range of industries, commercial and government experiences.
Andrew combines current academic business research with decades of hands-on business experience to deliver focussed, dynamic, active learning for clients. This takes people beyond a simple presentation of facts, to think creatively and strategically about the application of their new knowledge and skills. In his coaching and courses, he includes many opportunities for participants to practise skills, role-play and analyse their own success.
Andrew began his professional career working with the management consulting firm, Booz, Allen and Hamilton, in strategic planning, operations improvement, information technology management, financial assessments, and market research for major international companies. Since that time, he has actively concentrated on moving between academia and business, to take advantage of the opportunities for cross fertilization of ideas and techniques between the two sectors.
Since completing his Doctorate, Andrew has taught, and worked across, a wide range of scientific, technological and business disciplines, dealing with a varying clientele from different countries and age groups. This has given him extensive cross-cultural skills along with a keen understanding of what customers require from an organization and how using this knowledge can benefit the organization. It has also emphasised to him the importance of delivering consultancy that actively engages the participants and that has been designed to meet their specific needs and organisational background.
Andrew was part of the start-up management team for RMIT International University Vietnam, where he grew the academic staff from 6 to 24 and students from 30 to 600 over its first two years 2002-2004.
Working in the UAE 2005-2016 as a training consultant to the oil and gas industry, as well as other government and commercial companies, and as Associate Faculty for several UK University MBA programs gave him exposure to a wide range of commercial and academic environments.

What We Care About
The issues we face today in organisations and globally will require unprecedented leadership and unprecedented levels of co-operation concurrently, to mobilise communities and organisations.
A New Paradigm for the Future
To make progress on our most significant issues, we need a new paradigm—one that inspires us to:
As the industrial age wanes, new possibilities emerge to create a different paradigm of leadership. I propose a new paradigm that draws from many sources and builds on them in an integrative way.
The mechanistic, industrial paradigm has been in existence since the latter part of the 18th century and continues to shape society and modern organisations. It is a long, slow journey, yet incredibly worthwhile.
